GoPro Hero7 Black

Best in camera stabilization of any camera, but digital. Handheld move with camera possible.

Amazing in camera 4K hyperlapse capability - moving camera time-lapse.

Log gamma, so possible HDR capability.

Hyperlapse example:

First week retail sales best of any new GoPro camera in GoPro's history.

Looks good in both detail and color. Would love to see this level of stabilization on new zoom lens compact cameras.

Definitely car as well. You can choose the video speed-up, like 2x, 5x, or 10x, or 15x, or 30x specifically for different movement pace. The manual specifically mentions walking, hiking, running, bicycling, driving.

First GoPro Hero7 Black HDR Video?

Shot in protune flat, which is like a log gamma, and WB native, and rendered as an HDR video to capture the full dynamic range of the camera and its full color gamut.

I haven't done anything serious with mine yet, but I did get some underwater video and it was what I thought to be great. Out of the box, 4K60P, that's it. Also did one time lapse (totally by accident....) that was pretty cool! But, I also did some horizon pans, and found the video to "jerk" from time to time. No idea why, no idea how to REALLY use this camera, thought maybe it was hyper-stabilization over compensating? Dunno. Simple photos also not that impressive (to me) out of the box. Color is off as compared to video, so I guess I've gotta actually learn how to use this thing, might mean reading....Need a Hero7 for Dummies guide or something..... Screen gets toasty too - normal?

For stils, shoot in RAW so you get to manipulate to get the colors you want.

You are correct that the stabilization is impeding horizontal pans. This true for all high-powered in camera stabilization, digital or not. Panasonic top cameras enable you to set stabilization to allow pans. Now on the GoPro, you can turn off stabilization for pans, then turn back on. Perhaps a firmware update will allow a pan setting, as it is possible to program that and this complaint is known.

Thanks! I appreciate that response. I will play with the stabilization. Though I did find it to work quite well when walking, forward motion, no complaints there!

Exactly, it is tuned for stabilizing foward motion, and it does that amazingly well.

As good as a gimbal? Yes!

I can move with the camera, and the results are good, moving or still. Tested here:

4K 60P.
