Hi,

Yesterday I tried screen shoot on the Panny AE100 one last time. The pictures still suck! Maybe next time I may borrow other DC to try, if you guys still insist!

Photos taken using my Canon G1, at 2048x1536 JPEG superfine, camera on a tripod just behind the AE100. Shot in Tv mode using 1/30sec and custom white balance by shooting a white field from DVD as the white point.

Photos below are scaled down to 800x600 in photoshop. All other aspect untouched.

The pictures below has NO resolution, LOW contrast, weird color balance and just look plain suck. They're NOT even remotely close to the live picture on screen! If you think the photos look nice, you've NO idea what's the real picture on screen. If you think the photos suck, you also have NO idea what's the real picture on screen! I post this just so that you guys can stop asking me for screen shoot. I can't get it right with my camera.

These are DVD shoots with the Hoya FLD filter:

These are HDTV shoots without any filter:

You can clearly see the weird purple/yellow strips on the girl face! This is NOT on the screen!

Li On, Thanks for all your trouble!!!.
Is it possible the red-purple tint of the images is caused by the Hoya FLD filter ?, can you see anything of this tint on your screen also ?. Do you get the same artifacts when taking pictures of your LT-150 and CRT ?. If you can not see these artifacts with pictures of your DLP and CRT pj's, this might really be some sort of side effect caused by the reaction between the LCD panel of the camera and the LCD panel of the pj. If so, maybe you should try taking pictures with a real 35mm film camera.

One question about the screenshots: What are the vertical yellow lines clearly visible in most of the pictures?

Especially on pictures 2,3 and 8

Are they only visible in the screenshots or also on the screen?

Does anyone else who has the panasonic have similar stripes across the picture?

Did you read my message or my English is really that bad?

Btw, the magenta tint is NOT in the real on screen image. The magenta tint issue is a known G1 problem. I can reduce the effect somewhat in photoshop but I thought I should rather post the picture as-is.

Li On: Thanks for your effort.

Ignoring the color problems with the digital photography, I was most impressed with how much detail there is in the HDTV photos. Both these photos and the previous from your other thread. I did not think this would be possible with a 480P projector.

I am definitely looking forward to seeing this projector in action when it hits the states.

Seems like an excellent value until 720P projectors become more affordable. And especially true when used with the RGB input.

Cool pictures. I forgot about these.

I must comment. There is virually NO SCREEN DOOR and it still looks sharp. I am looking forward to seeing this projector in person.

I wonder if it is good enough to make me sell my 32" NTSC TV. My room can be pitch black if I want it to be, but its small 12 x 14 feet.

I spoke with my av-dealer yesterday about when he would bring in the AV-100 and he said he already had it and sent it back due to the crappy picture.Seems to me its time to find me another dealer.

Lion looks like banding in the picture is this a problem with this projector I say one on demo the other day it had the same problem highlighted in your pictures? That is the bands of noise in the picture. Is this HTPC or DVD player?

Thanks Rick

No matter where you go there you are!
