Question Cheapest 7 channel and HDMI 2.0a ?

I don't need any kind of wifi or network connectivity, no analog input, no second zone/room/screen. Nothing fancy.

95% sports/movies, 4% TV shows.

Good room correction would be nice, but I'm not overly picky about that. Just need highest quality picture to my 4k, and 7.1 or 5.2.4 if possible.

I was about say, low-mid level Denon, Yamaha or Pioneer will do all of those things, but can't do 5.2.4. Thats a step up to an onkyo 787, rz630 or pioneer vsx-lx303.

Refurbished will keep the costs down for a 9 channel receiver here....http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html?number_channels[]=9

Budget?

As already pointed out, you'd need a 9 channel receiver to support 5.2.4 Atmos.

Even if you don't want to buy a refurb, A4L has one of the best search functions around. An example different from post 3: http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/avreceiver/home-audio/receivers-amps/home-theater-receivers/1.html?number_channels[]=7&home_audio_key[]=HDR&home_audio_key[]=hdcp22

Not sure what level of room correction software you'd like. In the Denon line, I think you'd need to move up from an AVR-S model to an AVR-X model to go from the basic Audyssey to XT. To go to their best, XT32, you'd need an AVR-X3400H or better. The latter is available at a relatively good 2017 model year closeout price online (Amazon, Crutchfield), or $100 less as a refurb at A4L (with a 1 year manufacturer's warranty, rather the 3 years for a new unit).
